Study information
The Business Informatics degree programme at the renowned NORDAKADEMIE combines technical expertise with an in-depth understanding of business processes, thereby promoting the development of effective digital innovation strategies.
As part of the programme, students learn the basics of sustainable corporate management and how this harmonises with digital technologies. By applying statistical methods, they learn to make data-driven decisions that contribute to the optimisation of business processes.
A special focus is placed on scientific work and ethics. Students are encouraged to think critically and incorporate ethical considerations into their projects and research. This is also reflected in the IT Controlling and IT Law modules, which provide a comprehensive insight into the legal and financial aspects of the IT industry.
The project management, software engineering and software testing modules prepare students to manage complex IT projects and to develop and test high-quality software solutions. Strategic IT Management is another key component of the programme, which emphasises the link between IT initiatives and overall business strategy.
In addition, students have the opportunity to choose two modules from a compulsory elective programme. These range from change management and digital business development to future-orientated.
Your Master's degree program is blended learning with classroom sessions and self-study phases. The NORDAKADEMIE provides you with all learning materials online and offline and also supervises you personally.
Four to six weeks before your first lecture, you will receive access to the first study materials. At the beginning of your studies, you will also receive your student ID card.
Consistent study groups enable you to have an intensive exchange and excellent cooperation. In the Master's project, you will also work together in interdisciplinary teams. All modules follow one another in time with subsequent examinations. This means that you only have to prepare for one exam at a time.
If, due to your personal or professional situation, it is not possible for you to complete your studies in the standard period of study, you can extend your study period by eight months free of charge.
Our recommendation: When comparing the tuition fees of private universities, you should always look out for "hidden" costs, e.g. for enrollment, exams or study time extensions. If providers do not disclose these fees or only inform you about them after you have been entered in a list of prospective students, you will often be charged above-average fees.
The interdisciplinary Master's program Business Informatics/IT Management at NORDAKADEMIE enables you to identify problems, design tailor-made solutions and implement them. In doing so, it is just as important to have information technology know-how as it is to understand business processes.
Our aim is to provide you with education that will enable you to increase the company's earning power in the long term in a dynamic competitive environment - while at the same time taking social and ecological concerns into account.
This makes a Master's degree from NORDAKADEMIE a solid basis for you to pursue a career in any management position for which you need high-quality IT knowledge and business expertise.

Admission requirements
The Master's program in Business Informatics/IT Management is aimed at interested students who have a first qualifying university degree. This can be a diploma or bachelor's degree with at least 180 credit points or comparable, a (business) informatics degree or a degree in a related subject..
You fulfill the formal requirements if you have a nationally state-recognized university degree from a German or foreign university. In addition, we expect
- knowledge and skills to formulate solutions to problems algorithmically.
- knowledge of the development and interlinking of business information systems
- knowledge of the development, interlinking and documentation of IT-supported business processes
- in-depth knowledge of selected business processes
- the ability to understand and prepare decisions from a business perspective
- a basic understanding of the process and environment of IT projects
Degrees in business information systems, degrees with "computer science-" in the designation and a corresponding major in business, or degrees with a business orientation and a corresponding major in computer science generally have evidence of the necessary competencies.
For other degrees, competencies are assessed individually as part of the application process and, if necessary, a joint plan is developed to catch up on missing know-how.
A total of 300 credits are required for the master's degree, including doctoral entitlement. Since the master's program comprises only 90 credits, applicants with fewer than 210 credits from their first degree must make up the missing credits before graduating with a master's degree. In this case, admission is granted on the condition that the missing credits are made up before graduation from the master's program.
Missing credit points
You can acquire missing credit points at the NORDAKADEMIE through
- up to two term papers with 10 credit points each
- successful completion of continuing education modules of 5 credit points each
- successful completion of a certificate course for 30 credits each
Term papers
You propose the topics for the assignments yourself and agree them with the examiner by submitting an exposé. Topics for which you already have prior knowledge, e.g. from professional practice or from continuing education modules, are suitable. You can begin with a term paper even before the start of the actual Master's program.
Important: Prerequisite is admission to the Master's program and payment of the first tuition fee. After receipt of payment, you will receive your access data and can register the term paper via the internal campus information system. For information on additional fees, please refer to the current fee schedule. It is due upon confirmation of the topic.
Further education modules
After admission to the Master's program or after payment of the first tuition fee, you can also take continuing education modules. You can complete these - as well as the term papers - before starting the actual Master's program. Costs can be found in the current fee schedule. We will confirm successful participation with a certificate.
